Hertfordshire is one of the most searched for places on our website, but we haven't been able to show calculate and display its school catchment areas — until now that is :-). We've just added the data for 2018 and 2017 admissions.

Most schools in Hertfordshire—including in St Albans, Watford, Chorleywood, and Stevenage—have an admission rule that says that they'll prioritise applications for children for whom it is their nearest school.

This rule defines priority admission areas, or nearest school areas, around each of the schools. For children in this area, the school is their nearest, and they'll be given priority over children who live outside it.

We've recently built the capability to generate these areas and combine them with information on last distances offered each year to create catchment areas.

Here's a glimpse of it in action:

Catchments, distance calculations and historical data are only available for our paying customers. Use the form below to start exploring our free information on exam results and Ofsted ratings.

Please note however that while we try very hard to make our catchment data as accurate as we can, it is still an approximation, as we may have different school location data from local authorities.
